Tibetan Buddhist Teachings in South Florida

Lama Migmar returns to South Florida to present Tibetan Buddhist teachings in Miami Beach.

Pre-Registration Required – Registration Deadline: January 26, 2006

Saturday, January 28 - 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Dharma Talk: "Introduction to Tibetan Buddhism"
A general overview of the main teachings and practices of Tibetan Buddhism. An ideal introduction for new students of Buddhism and other interested persons as well as a concise synthesis for current practitioners.

Location:
The Blue Diamond (in the Social Room)
4779 Collins Ave. (Collins & 47th St.)
Miami Beach, FL
Parking: Valet parking available (no charge for valet parking, just tip the parking attendant)
Suggested Registration Donation: $10 per person (to help cover room rental)

NOTE: Please bring your meditation cushion if you are comfortable sitting on the floor.

Sunday, January 29 - 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. (2 Separate Sessions)
A Day of Dharma Divided into Two Sessions
(Vegetarian lunch will be provided)
Suggested Registration Donation: $20 per person (to help cover meal expense and room rental)

Morning Session: 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Empowerment Initiation: "White Tara”
White Tara is an emanation of Tara who is connected with longevity and long life. One calls on her for health, strength, and longevity.

Afternoon Session: 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
General Introduction to the Five Foundation ("Ngondro") Practices
In this introductory session we will focus on the first three of the five foundation practices, Refuge, Bodhichitta and Vajrasattva: Refuge and Prostration to increase one's faith; Bodhichitta to cultivate loving kindness and compassion towards all sentient beings to achieve Buddhahood; and Vajrasattva for purification and healing.

Offerings: Traditional Khata and dana offerings can be made to the teacher in gratitude for the teachings at the end of the events on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.

NOTE: All Dharma teachings are free. However, we sometimes ask a suggested registration donation to help cover expenses.
